Birkenstock offshoots: Betula, Tatami, Newalk, Birki

So whats the big difference? As best as we can tell Plain Old Birkenstocks are still made in Germany using their own name brand materials: leather straps, brass buckles, cork footbeds and Birkenstock soles. These licensed offshoot brands, namely: Betula, Birki, Newalk and Tatami are made using the same materials and styles but with different names. One big difference is that they are made in China.
Some can live with this and others can't.
The following is a formal description we have found:
"Certain members of the Birkenstock family also market other brands of footwear, under license from the original Birkenstock company, featuring contoured footbeds. These brands include Betula, Tatami, Papillio, Birki's and Footprints. In 2007, Birkenstock Distribution USA, Inc. was acquired and formed into a new corporation named Birkenstock USA, LP."

We at Beanes Clothing carry Birkenstock Newalk, Tatami, Betula and have a few Birkis left. Our prices are great, our shipping fast and service, well, you can look at our Ebay feedback.
But please hurry because our shoes are flying out of here as fast as they can!
